Polaris enters HSCL2 Finals with complete domination

Match Summary:
Date: 24-Dec-2011
Ground: NFC Sports Club
Teams: Polaris vs ZenTech
Toss won by - 'ZenTech' and opted for fielding.

Polaris Innings:
It's a green top wicket having over night dew by the time match was started. Good toss to win by ZenTech and rightly opted for fielding first. 'Polaris' openers(Susheel & Praveen) started the innings keeping the conditions in view. Both have good understanding between them, while Praveen taking the charge..Susheel kept rotating the strike. They scored 28 runs in the first power play. Later, there were few(3) good overs bowled by 'Zentech' with the introduction of Ram into attack. 'Polaris' crossed 50 runs mark in the 8th over of the innings. The aggressive innings of Praveen(28 runs in 20 balls) has come to an end with a good work by 'ZenTech' bowler making him runout. Susheel & Praveen scored 54 runs for the first wicket. Another wicket gone for 'Polaris' in the 10th over when 'Ram' dismissed 'Madhu'. 'Polaris' were 63/2 after 10 overs. There, Ratna joined with Susheel and Susheel took the game under his control. Susheel played some tremendous shots and while Ratna(14 runs) picking up the gaps well. 'Polaris' was in a good position with 110/2 at 15 overs and expecting to score more runs with the wickets in hand. Now, it was the turn of 'Ram' of 'Zentech' who not only stopped runs but, took 2 wickets each in his last 2 overs(16th & 18th). Ram, so far had a wonderful tournament with the ball. Finished his five-wicket hall (5/10 in 4 overs) which includes well settled Susheel's wicket too. Susheel(62 runs in 54 balls) scored another half-century in the tournament. Ram was well supported by Suman(2/29 runs in 4 overs) from the other end, who took 2 wickets and did an excellent runout in his follow thru. At that stage, 'Polaris' was into trouble having score 123/9. But, Arun(10 runs) took most of the strike and added 17 valuable runs for last wicket ensuring no further loss to the team. Finally , 'Polaris' managed to score 140/9 in 20 overs .

ZenTech Innings:
As mentioned earlier, still there was a little bit of green grass remained after an innings. The two quickies of 'Polaris', Degula & Arun made use of the wicket and gave a brilliant start to the team. Both were exceptional and literally unplayable in the initial overs. By the time batsmen realized the situation, damage was done. The process went in this way...Degula took the wicket for the first ball of the innings and 'ZenTech' were 0/1 after first over. 2nd over was bowled by Arun and his in-swinging deliveries dominated the batsmen and he took 3 wickets in that dream over. 'ZenTech' were 6/4 after 2 overs and all those runs coming in extras. In the 3rd over, Degula took 2 more wickets..one being a beautiful catch taken by Madhu in the first slip. 'ZenTech' were 11/6 after the 3rd over. Srinivas and Shiva steadied the innings for some time before Shiva(10 runs) was made out by Arun in his last over of the spell. Ratna and Chandra were into bowling attack(both didn't played after the 4th league match) and onto target right from the beginning. Ratna took a wicket in the 9th over..stumped made by Susheel. Suman chipped in with few runs(10) before being bowled by Chandra. Chandra closed the 'ZenTech' innings by taking the wicket of Srinivas..who stayed at the wicket for long time and played(18 runs) a respectable innings. Once again, Arun led the bowling department from front with his excellent bowling(4/11 in 4 overs) and equally supported by Degula(3/11 in 3 overs), followed by Chandra(2/11 in 2.1 overs) and Ratna (1/19 in 4 overs). 'ZenTech ' were allout for 58 runs in 14.1 overs.

First of all credit goes to the 'Polaris' opening batting pair (Susheel & Praveen) for giving a much deserved start for the team on a lush green wicket. Next, to the opening bowling pair who turned the match in almost no time to their team side by sticking to the basics and fully using the new ball. Ram of 'ZenTech' is also terrific with ball which made 'Polaris' to loose 7 wickets just for 13 runs in a span of 3.3 overs.

'Polaris' won the match by 82 runs.

Arun won the 'Man of the match' for his outstanding bowling performance(4/11 in 4 overs) and handy in batting (10 runs n.o) too.

IBM reaches HSCL2 Finals with a super over

Match Summary:
Date: 24-Dec-2011
Ground: NFC Ground, ECIL.
Teams: IBM Vs Wipro ( Semi-finals)

Wipro won the toss and opted to bat first. Sree and Mehul opened the innings. Narein and Sai started off the IBM bowling attack. Captain Sree was the first one to be dismissed in 3rd ball when he tried to play a ball to onside, closing the phase of bat early which took a leading edge which went straight into the hands of player at cover region. With some extras and byes wipro could manage to score 17 runs in 1st over.Otherend Sai bowled his first spell to perfection by conceding 7 runs in 3 overs with 1 wicket of Ramakanth. Debut bowler Pavan bowled meticulously( 13 runs in 4 overs) with variation in pace and tight line.
The Duo Rajesh(25 runs) and Manish steadied the innings for few overs.( 55/3 in 10 overs). Just when rajesh was looking good with his bat, he was given LBW out for a pullshot where the ball kept little low than he anticipated hitting his right thigh.
Veteran leg break bowler "Madhav" who took 2 quick wickets in his 1st over caused some damage to wipro batting order at that stage
Manish who looked fluent in making 35 added some crucial runs in last overs and Wipro managed to get 27 runs in last 3 overs. and overall scoring 127/8 in 20 Overs.

With target as 128 on board,'IBM'couldnt start well as they lost their in-form batsman "Aquib" in 1st over who was bowled out to Left Arm pace bowler "Ganga". 1 down batsman 'Raju' was also unlucky as he was caught out by 'Ramakanth' who took a brilliant catch in covers. Next set of the batsmans who tried to score some runs couldnt manage to keep the score board ticking and were sent back to pavilion early.
Skipper savi who tried to go for some shots was caught out at gully region scoring 13 runs. some good overs bowled by Ganga ,Gopal, Arun restricted IBM batsmans to score any boundaries at that stage (35/5 in 10 overs). It was apparent to the spectators that match will be won by Wipro.
It was left hand batsman'Pavan' who changed the course of the game with some big hits and well timed shots over cover region, provided some entertainment to the crowd. He was well supported by batsmans Goverdhan, sidharth. IBM were (71/6 in 15 overs). IBM had to score 56 runs in 30 balls with 4 wickets remaining.
"Pavan" who scored useful 40 runs in 26 balls was bowled out by 'Arun'.
Wipro still had an edge over victory but hopes were dashed off when batsmans 'sher' and 'Naren' who took some quick singles converting 1's into 2's Plus some extras, which kept Wipro team under pressure.
Catch drop of "Sher" by rajesh at long on proved costly for wipro. IBM had to score 12 runs in final over and bowler Sahoo bowled couple of wide deliveries, Batsman "Sher" connected every ball well, both naren and Sher took risky singles with good running between the wickets and IBM had to score 3 runs in last 1 ball.
"Sher" hit the last ball towards the cover region and after slight misfield by fielder 2nd run was taken quickly, finally scores were equal. Commendable performance at the end by "Sher" and "Naren" who kept their whole hearted efforts to make IBM win.

As the scores were leveled,Umpires decided for super over and IBM had to bat first. Wipro Left Arm Pacer 'Ganga'who bowled good spell in the entire match, struggled little with his line and gave some extras in initial deliveries "Aquib" smashed couple of deliveries to boundary on the square legside and at other end "Pavan" who was in good form rotated strike, giving chance to "Aquib" to score the maximum. IBM finally scored 18 runs in 1 over.

With target 19 on board, Wipro batsmans "Ramakanth" and "Mohit" were sent to crease. IBM team decided to handover the charge to "Pavan", who bowled couple of wide balls initially and wipro batsmans could manage to just take singles every ball.

IBM won the match comprehensively with 11 runs
This is 8th win for IBM over 9 matches played so far in HSCL-2.
"Pavan" was adjudged as "Man of Match" for his allround performance.

Teams: NCR Vs Siemens

Siemens Batting: 113/9 in 20 overs.
NCR opened the bowling attack witha magical spell from Suryavir in-swinging & out-swinging the ball this time round making the batsman think twice before attempting to play.Suryavir claimed his first wicket of a magnificent in-swinging delivery hitting the mid-wicket getting the Siemens opener bowled.Sandeep who stepped in-next didn't last long and was bowled for an excellent delivery by Kranthi where the bail flew near to 30yrd circle. Manish who stepped played diligently and slowly started to build the partnership. However,he didn't last long and was run out for an excellent throw from Venkata Subbaiah from Square Leg when he attempted for a tight second run.Tulasi didn't last long and was out for a full toss for an easy catch to Keeper.
Vignesh who stepped in-next continued to support to Nayeem(Opener) who played the anchor role putting odd balls to boundaries. They started to build the partnership and kept the scoreboard ticking.Siemens were at 80/4 at the end of 15 overs.Suryavir was brought back to attack and took his second wicket of Nayeem(36 runs) with a spectacular catch from Sateesh at mid-wicket. Azhar & Vignesh continued to rotate the strike and Azhar giving a "go" at the balls. However,Vignesh was run-out due to improper calling for a well made 28 runs.NCR bowler's didn't allow the Siemens tail-enders to open-up and made Siemens work hard to score. Siemens managed to score a respectable total of 113/9 at the end of 20 overs. There were 4 runouts in the Siemens innings and some good catches taken from NCR fielding department giving only 13 extras off 20 overs was an exceptional performance.

NCR Bowling:
Suryavir - 3/11(4 overs) & Kranthi - 1/19(4 overs) were impressive.

NCR Batting: 114/6 in 14.3 overs.

Game Plan:-
========= NCR huddle has come-up with a Strategy to go for "Victory" ----> Semis which require chasing down the total in ~10 overs. This would be as a result of "Tie" in Points with ZenTech where "NRR" comes into picture for deciding the Semis Qualifier for 4th Position.
NCR opened the innings with Srujan and Sateesh with Srujan taking the strike. The first ball was a boundary literally knocking the doors of "Semis" Compartment. It was the strategy to go after the bowling in the Initial 5 overs to fetch as many runs as possible. The very next ball was a wicket where the ball kept low and Srujan was Plumb in-front. Uday who stepped in-next started playing on Gear-3 right from the beginning where NCR hut started to Smell "Semis" berth........
Sateesh too did hit few boundaries respecting the good balls. His little cameo came to end when he was bowled for a fullish delivery from Azhar.Sateesh scored 16 runs(3 fours).Uday didn't step down the gear and continued to accelerate in the same manner. His Sweep shot six of Nayeem's bowling which went high and also covered enough territory clearing the deep mid-wicket was treat watching. He decided to go after the bowling;however he couldn't succeed to clear the second time and was caught at long-on. Uday scored 35 runs(4 fours 1 six) off just 19 balls. There were hopes of finishing the match within 10 overs & NCR started to believe they are "through" when Uday was going after the Siemens attack.
NCR was 57/3 at the end of 7 overs. Kranthi stepped in-next was out of the very second ball plumb in-front.Pradeep stepped in-next to keep the scoring rate high as NRR will be decider for the match.Pradeep and Reddy were at crease to win the match for NCR as quickly as possible.Reddy was plumb in-front of the very second ball and NCR was at 71/5 at the end of 9 overs. Naveen C who stepped in at 6th wicket played sensibly and continued to support Pradeep to win the match for NCR.Naveen C and Pradeep put up a good partnership for 6th wicket and took NCR almost home with ample overs remaining. Pradeep tried to clear the fence of Nayeem's bowling to finish the formalities for NCR and was caught at deep mid wicket.Pradeep scored 18 runs(2 fours; 1 six). Prasad stepped in next to finish the winning runs for NCR and Naveen C remained not out with a well made 20 runs(2 fours).

Result: NCR won the match by 4 wickets.

Man of the Match: Nayeem from Siemens for scoring 36 runs and claiming 1 wicket.

Even though NCR won the match against Siemens the "NET RUN RATE" was not good enough to overtake "ZenTech".
ZenTech & NCR stood at 12 points and ZenTech occupied the 4th slot with slightly better NRR compared to NCR.
Zen Players watched the match closely and relaxed only after the 10th over. :-)

Hence the Semis matches for HSCL-II are Polaris Vs. Zen ; IBM Vs. Wipro

Trianz,Siemens will occupy the 6th & 7th Slots and Honeywell at the bottom with 4 points.

It was 0.45 NRR which made the difference between the 4th slot and 5th slot.

NCR finished the HSCL-II in 5th slot and accolades from HSCL Management and also the Umpires regarding the Spirit Shown on-field, Commitment and Cricketing attitude.NCR was considered as best bowling team where appreciations given from all HSCL Participant teams.
It was NCR's first participation in HSCL and finished off in 5th position where it lost the "Semis" berth by 0.45 NRR."NCR was close yet so far". Congratulations for NCR Squad for putting up a great performance in all the 7 matches where it entered the Tournament as "Under dogs" and almost occupying the "Semis berth".........

NCR had sweet memories in HSCL-II w.r.t "Highest Successful run chase in HSCL History against Honeywell" ; "Last Ball Six against Wipro"; "Neck-to-Neck Semis-fight Successful Run Chase against Siemens". There were close matches with Trianz and Zen but NCR landed on other side of Victory & good fight with IBM & Polaris teams. NCR Bowler "Suryavir Singh" will grab the Orange Cap from NCR and will be in the list competing for the "Best Bowler of the Tournament" award for HSCL-II taking 15 wickets in just 6 matches which is an Outstanding Performance.NCR is becoming a Competitive team w.r.t Corporate Cricket Standards and will try to move further heights in next Edition of HSCL.

Polaris Innings:

Susheel and Arun played cautiously and 'Polaris' were 73/2 after 10 overs. Both added 46 runs for the 3rd wicket before Hari bowled Arun(19 runs) in 13th over. Once again, Srikanth did some more damage in the 15th over where Polaris lost 2 more wickets(one being runout). 'Polaris' were struggling for runs at that moment..103/5 after 15 overs. Srikanth finished his dream spell(3/11). Susheel(50 runs in 48 balls) fell after his maiden half-century in the tournament and was brilliant in utilizing the opportunities in right way. Scored 8x4s in his valuable innings. Once Susheel departed, Jaweed's runs hunt started. Jaweed's blazing innings(24 runs in 18 balls) consisted of 3 fours and a six over mid-wicket fence. Trianz Innings:
A quick start from 'Trianz' too by scoring 41 runs in 5 overs. Both, Sajith and Srikanth were fluent in stroke making and sent the ball to all corners of the ground. Especially, Srikanth looked dangerous but couldn't stand for long. His innings(34 runs in 21 balls) came to an end when stumped by Stalin in Praveen's bowling. Praveen took another wicket in his 2nd over leaving 'Trianz' at 68/2 after 10 overs. Sajith at other steadied the innings with Anand and continued it with Kalyan(after Anand was retired hurt for some time). Sajith played medium-pacers and spinners equally well and his foot work was very good throughout the innings. Kalyan(13 runs) hit a six over deep-mid wicket in Susheel's bowling but was bowled by him in next over. Then, Anand came back for batting and there, 'Trianz' requires 47 runs to win in last 5 overs having 7 wickets in hand. But, the 16th over bowled by Niranjan spoiled the hopes of Trianz as he made out both Sajith(30 runs with 5x4s) and Anand(16 runs with 3x4s) also conceded just 3 runs in that over. Having required run rate at 11 per over, Trianz batsmen tried their best by hitting the odd balls to boundaries. But, the runout of Shankar narrowed the chances of win for 'Trianz'. During the same time Arun collapsed Trianz innings by taking 4 wickets in a span of 9 balls. Arun led the bowling department from front with his excellent bowling(4/23 in 3.3 overs), followed by Niranjan(2/17 in 4 overs), Praveen(2/24 in 4 overs) and Susheel (1/27 in 4 overs). 'Trianz ' were allout for 134 runs in 19.3 overs.

Match is evenly poised till the end and a good fight from Trianz till the last ball. Match has seen some excellent individual performances from both the teams. Classic batting by Susheel & Sajith and powerful strokes from Srikanth & Jaweed. Couple of hits by Srikanth & Jaweed went miles out of the boundary. Also, wonderful bowling by Arun, Niranjan & Srikanth. Excellent catches taken by Srikanth, Mahesh & Susheel and a sparkling stump by Stalin. Polaris had a good match before the Semi-finals.

'Polaris' won the match by 17 runs.

Susheel earned 'Man of the match' for his brilliant batting( 50 runs), handy in bowling ( 1/27 in 4 overs ) too and took an excellent catch in the field.

Both Shastha and Sampath ensured that they kept the good balls out with extreme caution. Siemens on the other hand defending a small total of 87 ran out of good bowler’s to threaten Honeywell Batsman. Honeywell after 10 over was 37 / 1. Shastha after negating the good bowling soon found his shots striking 2 boundaries of Vignesh (Siemens) simplifying the equation who was ably guided from Sampath who struck 34 of 41 balls with 3 boundaries. However on a day where wickets fell in quick succession, having negated the good bowling early on by Siemens and striking 7 boundaries, scoring 44 Runs of 41 balls Shastha was adjudged as Man of the Match.

Polaris Innings:
'Polaris' openers gave a confident start to the team by making 37 runs in the powerplay overs. Praveen opened his score with an excellent cover-drive, followed by a square cut over point and couple of leg glances. As usual, Naren gave a break-through to his team by making Praveen(17 runs in 11 balls with 4 fours) out in his 2nd over leaving Polaris at 38/1. Madhu joined with Susheel and ensured runs coming for every ball by finding gaps in the field. They added 36 runs for the 2nd wicket before Madhu being out by Aquib. Madhu scored 20 runs in 15 balls which includes a six over extra-covers..can say 'shot of the match'. 'Polaris' were 75/2 after 10 overs. When 'Polaris' in hurry to score runs, Naren struck twice and Madhav also took the wicket of settled batsman..Susheel. It was another good innings from Susheel(31 runs from 34 balls) to the team. Degula(13 runs) and Jaweed(12 runs) chipped in with some important runs in the last overs. Naren was excellent once again with ball and took 3/21 in 4 overs. Finally , 'Polaris' managed to score 128/6 in 17 overs .

IBM Innings:
Polaris were in control in the first 2 overs by giving 12 runs and Prudhvi taking the wicket of in-form batsman, Savi. Ravi joined with Aquib and they both made full use of powerplay overs. Scored 37 runs in just 3 overs and 'IBM' were 49/1 after 5 overs. They played some good lofted shots over the inner circle and put 'IBM' in formidable position with their stand of 42 runs in 4.1 overs. It was Niranjan's 2nd over which sent 'IBM' into deep trouble. He took the wickets of Aquib(22 runs in 18 balls) & Ravi(16 runs in 11 balls) and there was a runout in the same over. Both batsman were out for outstanding stumps made by Susheel. Niranjan took another wicket in his next over leaving 'IBM' at 62/5 in 9 overs. Seetaram and Praveen were into bowling, did not gave any chances and took the remaining wickets. Good bowling spells by 'Polaris' bowlers Prudhvi(1/21 in 4 overs), Niranjan(3/17 in 3 overs), Seetaram((2/6 in 2 overs), and Praveen (3/8 in 1.3 overs). Madhu & Seetaram took 2 catches each and a good catch by 'Arun' at Long-on. ' IBM' lost 9 wickets for just 22 runs in 6.3 overs and were allout for 76 runs in 12.3 overs.

As both teams were qualified to Semi-finals, went into this match with few experiments. It was anyone's match till 6 overs of the 2nd innings then, it completely went into Polaris's side. Susheel is exceptionally well behind the stumps & turned another match result. Niranjan took very crucial wickets in the right time once again. Totally, good performances from both the sides and another interesting match in HSCL-II.

Polaris entering into Semifinals

Match Summary:
Date: 03-Dec-2011
Ground: Swamy Narayan Gurukul
Teams: Polaris vs Honeywell
Toss won by - 'Honeywell' and elected to bat first.

Honeywell Innings:
'Honeywell' openers started well but the partnership was broken in the 3rd over by Degula when he dismissed in form 'Sampath'. 'SaiPavan' and 'Varma' took a wicket each and the score has slow down then and it was 31/3 after 7 overs. Here, 'Shastha' joined 'Arun' and both played agressively and scored 31 runs in just 2 overs. Praveen broke the pair by making 'Arun(20 runs in 26 balls)' out. Honeywell were 68/4 after 10 overs. Immediately, 'Shastha(14 runs in 12 balls)' got out in Niranjan's bowling. Praveen and Niranjan controlled the score in the middle overs. One end, 'Pavan' made use of every single opportunity and sent the ball to fence and also rotated the strike well. At 15 overs, Honeywell stands at 91/5. Introduction of 'Chaitanya' and 'Mouli' made scene reverse as they both took 2 wickets each and a brilliant runout made by Degula. Honeywell lost last 5 wickets in a span of 2.5 overs just by adding 16 more runs to total. 'Pavan(28 runs of 23 balls)' played superb strokes before being bowled out for an in-cutter ball from Mouli. Good bowling spells by Mouli (2/6) & Chaitanya(2/10). Remaining bowlers(degula, Sai, Varma, Praveen & Niranjan) took a wicket each. Finally, 'Honeywell' were allout for 107 in 17.5 overs.

Polaris Innings:
Polaris started the innings slowly and continued the same by keeping the low target in view. Lost first wicket of 'Mouli(11 runs)' in the 7th over first ball when score was at 27. Niranjan joined Madhu and both steadied the innings. While Madhu punishing the loose deliveries, Niranjan played cautiously. Polaris were 51/1 after 10 overs. 'Pavan' bowled with good pace and did not let the batsmen to score runs. Bowled first 4 overs of the innings and conceded just 11 runs(1/11 in 4 overs). 'Arun(0/16 runs in 4 overs)' too supported well from the other end by bowling economically and being very straight to the wicket. 48 runs stand between Madhu & Niranjan in 8 overs was broken by 'Rakesh' in the 15 over by leaving 'Polaris' total to 80/1(after 15 overs). Yet another good knock from Madhu(35 runs in 38 balls) which consists of 80% of runs coming in boundaries in all directions. Military medium bowling and smart ground fielding by 'Honeywell' has created some tension in 'Polaris' camp though plenty of wickets in hand. But, Praveen(13 n.o. in 12 balls) showed the way to grab runs and Niranjan finished the match in style with a boundary for the 3rd ball of 19th over. Niranjan was unbeaten with 33 runs and gave 'Polaris' 8 wickets victory.

Polaris went in this match with four changes and all the new comers lived up to expectations of the team. It's Honeywell, fought for the match till the last ball despite of setting low target. They stick to the basics in the bowling and fielding and did not gave runs simply.

'Polaris' won the match by 8 wickets.

Niranjan was awarded 'Man of the match' for his performance with both bat & ball( 33 notout & 1/12 in 3 overs ).

Wipro gets back to winning ways again

Match Summary: Wipro Vs Trianz
Wipro won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Ganga and Dinesh started the innings and were absolutely unplayable right from the word go. Sajit and Anand opened cautiously. They ensured that no wicket fell in powerplay overs. Arun came in as first change in to the attack. He provided the first breakthrough and followed it up with another wicket in same over. Srikanth walked in next to bat. He started off very positively but in Arun’s second over, he played a ball onto his stumps. From there it was only Sajit who defied all odds and carried his bat all through the innings. Rajesh picked up 2 wickets and Dr.Gopal 1 wicket.

All in all Wipro was successful in holding Trianz for 69 by the end of 20 overs.

Sree and Rajesh walked to bat to chase the target. Sree got out in the second over trying to play an outside offstick delivery from Kalyan. Ankur walked in next but did not last long. And he too got out to Kalyan. Bharani walked in a no.4. He took his time in settling down. Rajesh at other end was fluent as usual. But Trianz never allowed the batsman to free their arms. Bharani and Rajesh followed in quick succession. Both made useful contributions of 16 and 14 to the score. It was left to Ganga and Dr.Gopal to finish the innings. Dr.Gopal hit the one and only six of the match. When it looked like Wipro will sail through quiet comfortably, a direct shot from Ganga resulted in the ball getting diverted by bowler and went on to hit the stumps. Dr.Gopal got run out. Suraj walked in next, but Ganga finished the match with boundary. Wipro reached 73 by 11.5 overs.

So with this win, Wipro not only garnered 2 points, but it also picked up valuable NRR, which might be crucial in deciding the Semifinalists.

Man of Match: Aquib who scored 42 runs and took 2 wickets giving 11 runs in 4overs.

Batting first wipro were bundled out for a score of 100/10 in 19.5 overs. IBM bowlers (Narein and Hameed) took advantage of whatever assistance their pace bowling line up could get from pitch. Early dismissals of front batting line up of Wipro kept the team on back foot (19/2 in 4 overs). Later batsmans Sreedhar and Gopal kept the rate at 4 an over at the end of 10 overs, not taking any risks and hoping one of them plays entire 20 overs. Once again bowlers Ravi(1/13 in 3 overs),Aquib (2/11 in 4 overs),Sai (1/10 in 4 overs) ,Madhav(0/8 in 1 over) did a good job. Wipro batsman Gopal who played some good shots on the onside was bowled out in power play over and some extra runs and catch drops in middle relieved pressure from wipro batsmans.

With target as 101 on board, IBM batsmans Aquib and Savi once again gave solid start to the team (50/0 in 7 Overs). Aquib played some powerful shots on the offside which left no chance for fielder at point or cover region to cut down those boundaries. At other end Savi timing the ball well, played cautiously by not indulging in any risky shots. At the end of 8 overs IBM were 72/1. Just when everyone was thinking that match could be finished in next 3 or 4 overs, Aquib got run out at 42. With new batsmans at crease, wipro bowlers Gopal,Ganga,Arun,Sreedhar bowled some tight spells by not giving any width for batsman to free their arms. At the end IBM managed to reach the target 101/6 in 17th over and 4 wickets remaining. Man of the match was awarded to "Aquib" for his brilliant allround performance with both bat and ball.

Shankar 3/12 was outstanding throughout and fabulous support from Trianz bowlers Nikhil, Sreedhar, Srikanth and Kalyan. Honeywell Batsmen has no clue in connecting the ball when spinners came to attack (Sreedhar and Srikanth Kadiri), Honeywell Batsman Shasta played really well to score 30 (4X5, 6X1) and a good support from Srinivasan 10(4X1). Trianz Bowlers have done really well to restrict Honeywell to 97/10.It is a win we have to give to our bowlers. Each and every player showed a lot of resilience.

Polaris tops the points table

Match Summary:
Date: 19-Nov-2011
Ground: Swamy Narayan Gurukul
Teams: Polaris vs Wipro
Toss won by - 'Wipro' and put 'Polaris' into batting.

Polaris Innings:
Once again a good start is given by Polaris openers (Madhu & Susheel) by putting 66 runs in the first 10 overs. Madhu(34 runs in 33 balls) played yet another good knock and a nice support from Susheel(13 runs). After loosing openers quickly, Praveen(14 in 17 balls) and Ratna(19 in 15 balls) took the charge by rotating the strike well and keep moving the scoreboard. They added 35 valuable runs for the 3rd wicket. But, Polaris fumbled in the last 5 overs and could not give huge total as target. It was bcoz of excellent bowling performances by Gopal(3/24 in 4 overs) & Ganga(2/21in 4 overs) and a good support from Rajesh(1/24 in 4 overs) too. Finally, 'Polaris' managed to score 132/8 in 20 overs.

Wipro Innings:
Wipro lost first wicket early as Niranjan removed Ravi. Sree(39 runs) continued his touch with bat in this match also. Got support from Mehul(19 runs) and put more than 60 runs for 2nd wicket in 8overs. Both of them executed excellent shots and it was the match of Wipro requiring another 60 runs to win. Niranjan came back with 2 quick wickets of Mehul and Rajesh in the same over. Scenarios got changed when Arun removed in form Sree and later a brilliant run out by Praveen. Though Wipro lost half of their wickets..still it's anyone's game as the run rate was under control. But, Ratna and Chandra bowled very economically and put pressure on batsmen as the required run rate got increased. Chandra and Mouli took important wickets of Sahoo and Ganga. But, Jawahar(13 runs) at one end trying his best. Requiring 25 runs in 4 overs with 3 wickets remaining..came down to 19 runs in 2overs bcoz of 2 tight overs by Polaris. It's Chandra again.. ruled in the 19th over of the innings by taking all the 3 wickets. Chandra was well supported by Susheel behind the stumps. Chandra(4/11 in 4 overs) and Niranjan(3/34 in 4 overs) were pick of the bowlers..supported well by Arun(1/24 in 4 overs), Ratna(12runs in 3overs) and Mouli (1/10 in 1 over. Easy win for IBM

Match Summary:
Date: 19-Nov-2011
Venue: Swamy Narayan Gurukul
Teams: IBM vs NCR
Toss - Won by IBM and elected to bowl
Match Result : IBM won by 4 wickets
Man of Match: Madhav Vemuri (4/20 in 3 overs)

IBM decision to bowl first went in right way as their opening bowlers Narein and Sai claimed 1 wicket each in their very first overs (23/2 at end of 2 overs). Next bowling spells by Aquib and Ravi ensured NCR do not get any leeway to build partnerships picking up wickets at regular intervals with stump to stump deliveries (53/5 at end of 10 overs). NCR batsman 'Reddy' alone stuck at one end collecting runs (25 runs in 28 balls) from pushes and nudges. Finally it was Madhav who changed the course of game in 16 over taking 3 quick wickets. (1 wicket includes a stunning one handed catch taken by Sai at deep square leg boundary line) At the end, NCR managded to score 95 runs in 15.4 Overs .

With 96 runs to be chased, IBM batsmans Savi and Aquib played a sensible knock in first 4 overs (24/0 in 4 overs). Aquib was the first one to be dismissed by Kranthi who was bowling decent line and length balls. Next batsman sitesh steadied the innings for sometime. Skipper Savi played some excellent copy book shots and hit 6 boundaries before he was bowled out by Kranthi at 28 runs, by that time IBM were 65/2 in 10 overs With some quick wickets that fell in middle, gave an impression that match could turn into NCR way but useful 17 runs partnership between Ravi & Sai plus some extras made a differrence.

With 4 runs to win and 3 overs remaining, first ball of 17th over was hit to straight boundary line by Sai which decided IBM victory.
Madhav was adjudged as Man of match for his 4 wicket haul in 3 overs.

Top class cricketing spirit from Shiva (Zen Technologies)

Here is the example how HSCL2 is being governed with excellent cricketing spirit. In the second round of match between Wipro and Zen Technologies, here was an instance when Shiva from ZenTech, who caught a catch at the boundary, but declared it as six in very true spirit of the game, as his foot went just probably few inches into the boundary line. It was such a close decision, match was precariously placed at 20 required off 14 balls. Had he told umpire as catch, umpire will go with his word and match result would itself have been different. We really appreciate such gesture by him. Well done Shiva. Our special appreciation to you and Zen Technologies team for making HSCL as a winner rather Wipro Team.

Trianz started climbing the ladder

Match Summary:
Date: 13-Nov-2011
Ground: Swamy Narayan Gurukul
Teams: NCR vs Trianz
Toss - Won by NCR and elected to bowl

Trianz Batting: 138/9 in 20 overs.

NCR opened the bowling attack with a magical spell from Suryavir swinging the ball in either directions.Suryavir claimed his first wicket of a magnificent in-swinging delivery getting the batsman bowled of his second ball. The very next ball was also a wicket with mid-stump out of ground with another in-swinging delivery. The batsman had no clue in connecting the ball and suryavir was almost unplayable in his initial overs. However,Srikanth(opener) continued to stay clam and stuck at one end driving the odd balls to fence and entertaining the crowd. He was intelligent enough in rotating the strike where he continued ticking the Trianz Scoreboard inspite of wickets falling at the other end.
