NCR finished HSCL2 with style.

Match Summary:
Date: 18-Dec-2011
Ground: Swamy Narayan Gurukul
Teams: NCR Vs Siemens

Siemens Batting: 113/9 in 20 overs.
NCR opened the bowling attack witha magical spell from Suryavir in-swinging & out-swinging the ball this time round making the batsman think twice before attempting to play.Suryavir claimed his first wicket of a magnificent in-swinging delivery hitting the mid-wicket getting the Siemens opener bowled.Sandeep who stepped in-next didn't last long and was bowled for an excellent delivery by Kranthi where the bail flew near to 30yrd circle. Manish who stepped played diligently and slowly started to build the partnership. However,he didn't last long and was run out for an excellent throw from Venkata Subbaiah from Square Leg when he attempted for a tight second run.Tulasi didn't last long and was out for a full toss for an easy catch to Keeper.
Vignesh who stepped in-next continued to support to Nayeem(Opener) who played the anchor role putting odd balls to boundaries. They started to build the partnership and kept the scoreboard ticking.Siemens were at 80/4 at the end of 15 overs.Suryavir was brought back to attack and took his second wicket of Nayeem(36 runs) with a spectacular catch from Sateesh at mid-wicket. Azhar & Vignesh continued to rotate the strike and Azhar giving a "go" at the balls. However,Vignesh was run-out due to improper calling for a well made 28 runs.NCR bowler's didn't allow the Siemens tail-enders to open-up and made Siemens work hard to score. Siemens managed to score a respectable total of 113/9 at the end of 20 overs. There were 4 runouts in the Siemens innings and some good catches taken from NCR fielding department giving only 13 extras off 20 overs was an exceptional performance.

NCR Bowling:
Suryavir - 3/11(4 overs) & Kranthi - 1/19(4 overs) were impressive.

NCR Batting: 114/6 in 14.3 overs.

Game Plan:-
========= NCR huddle has come-up with a Strategy to go for "Victory" ----> Semis which require chasing down the total in ~10 overs. This would be as a result of "Tie" in Points with ZenTech where "NRR" comes into picture for deciding the Semis Qualifier for 4th Position.
NCR opened the innings with Srujan and Sateesh with Srujan taking the strike. The first ball was a boundary literally knocking the doors of "Semis" Compartment. It was the strategy to go after the bowling in the Initial 5 overs to fetch as many runs as possible. The very next ball was a wicket where the ball kept low and Srujan was Plumb in-front. Uday who stepped in-next started playing on Gear-3 right from the beginning where NCR hut started to Smell "Semis" berth........
Sateesh too did hit few boundaries respecting the good balls. His little cameo came to end when he was bowled for a fullish delivery from Azhar.Sateesh scored 16 runs(3 fours).Uday didn't step down the gear and continued to accelerate in the same manner. His Sweep shot six of Nayeem's bowling which went high and also covered enough territory clearing the deep mid-wicket was treat watching. He decided to go after the bowling;however he couldn't succeed to clear the second time and was caught at long-on. Uday scored 35 runs(4 fours 1 six) off just 19 balls. There were hopes of finishing the match within 10 overs & NCR started to believe they are "through" when Uday was going after the Siemens attack.
NCR was 57/3 at the end of 7 overs. Kranthi stepped in-next was out of the very second ball plumb in-front.Pradeep stepped in-next to keep the scoring rate high as NRR will be decider for the match.Pradeep and Reddy were at crease to win the match for NCR as quickly as possible.Reddy was plumb in-front of the very second ball and NCR was at 71/5 at the end of 9 overs. Naveen C who stepped in at 6th wicket played sensibly and continued to support Pradeep to win the match for NCR.Naveen C and Pradeep put up a good partnership for 6th wicket and took NCR almost home with ample overs remaining. Pradeep tried to clear the fence of Nayeem's bowling to finish the formalities for NCR and was caught at deep mid wicket.Pradeep scored 18 runs(2 fours; 1 six). Prasad stepped in next to finish the winning runs for NCR and Naveen C remained not out with a well made 20 runs(2 fours).

Result: NCR won the match by 4 wickets.

Man of the Match: Nayeem from Siemens for scoring 36 runs and claiming 1 wicket.

Even though NCR won the match against Siemens the "NET RUN RATE" was not good enough to overtake "ZenTech".
ZenTech & NCR stood at 12 points and ZenTech occupied the 4th slot with slightly better NRR compared to NCR.
Zen Players watched the match closely and relaxed only after the 10th over. :-)

Hence the Semis matches for HSCL-II are Polaris Vs. Zen ; IBM Vs. Wipro

Trianz,Siemens will occupy the 6th & 7th Slots and Honeywell at the bottom with 4 points.

It was 0.45 NRR which made the difference between the 4th slot and 5th slot.

NCR finished the HSCL-II in 5th slot and accolades from HSCL Management and also the Umpires regarding the Spirit Shown on-field, Commitment and Cricketing attitude.NCR was considered as best bowling team where appreciations given from all HSCL Participant teams.
It was NCR's first participation in HSCL and finished off in 5th position where it lost the "Semis" berth by 0.45 NRR."NCR was close yet so far". Congratulations for NCR Squad for putting up a great performance in all the 7 matches where it entered the Tournament as "Under dogs" and almost occupying the "Semis berth".........

NCR had sweet memories in HSCL-II w.r.t "Highest Successful run chase in HSCL History against Honeywell" ; "Last Ball Six against Wipro"; "Neck-to-Neck Semis-fight Successful Run Chase against Siemens". There were close matches with Trianz and Zen but NCR landed on other side of Victory & good fight with IBM & Polaris teams. NCR Bowler "Suryavir Singh" will grab the Orange Cap from NCR and will be in the list competing for the "Best Bowler of the Tournament" award for HSCL-II taking 15 wickets in just 6 matches which is an Outstanding Performance.NCR is becoming a Competitive team w.r.t Corporate Cricket Standards and will try to move further heights in next Edition of HSCL.

Congratulations to NCR Squad for Putting up a great show in HSCL-II & best wishes to NCR Cricket Club for HSCL-III starting in Feb. 2012 Season.
